xbox one s features. Everything you need to know about Xbox One, Microsoft's single set-top box

Well, Microsoft came to its senses in time and significantly improved its position. Conclusions have been drawn, measures have been taken, those responsible are punished: the notorious Don Mattrick is now engaged in cheerful farms at Zynga, and the stern Phil Spencer is in charge of the Xbox gaming division. Keen gamers can breathe a sigh of relief and think about buying an Xbox again, because a new version of the Xbox One S has arrived on our market, which contains all the improvements for last years. We'll tell you everything in the full review!

The new Xbox One S is noticeably different in design from its predecessor, and it’s not even due to its reduced size. Aesthetics and ergonomics come to the fore: the console looks beautiful and neat, and most importantly, it has finally gotten rid of the huge external power supply that has been an eyesore since the days of the Xbox 360! This bold innovation completely changed the perception: you look at the little white console, from which only HDMI and a standard power cable stick out, and you can’t believe your eyes. It's as if it has not only become 40% more compact, but also got rid of unnecessary ballast.

There are no complaints about the quality of materials - white matte plastic (color name - Robot White) is pleasant to look at and to the touch. In any case, it will not collect micro-scratches as easily as the black glossy surfaces on the cases of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 of the first version. The assembly also inspires confidence: nothing creaks, there is no play, and in general, the body feels monolithic and weighty - 2.9 kg after all. The ventilation holes set an interesting theme: holes of different sizes adorn the snow-white device.

There is something in this from Scandinavian design and other Bang & Olufsen. True, if the first Xbox One received the comic stigma of a “VHS player” from sarcastic gamers, then the Xbox One S from the top angle turned out to look like... a Soviet radio! It’s as if there’s a speaker hidden in the round hole on top, not a cooling fan.

By the way, according to our feelings, the noise level when operating the Xbox One S has become slightly higher than before. Apparently, the fan of a smaller diameter and a different grille have an effect. But there are no problems with heating, despite the denser packaging of the filling. If you look closely, you can see through the ventilation that the insides are cooled by a large aluminum radiator - and it copes with the task quite well. After a couple of hours of gaming, the temperature of the console is not at all alarming, even if it is installed vertically. Let us remind you that the previous Xbox One could only be used in a horizontal position.

Xbox One S lived up to expectations and left only one rhetorical question: why, oh why couldn’t the console have been made like this from the very beginning? This is not just “the same Xbox One, only smaller,” as it might seem at first glance. This is a thorough work on bugs, which eliminated the main ergonomic flaws and made the device much more pleasant to use. As for technical improvements, support for 4K and HDR formats looks like something familiar and ordinary these days - however, it all depends on the capabilities of your TV, and the experience will vary markedly. If anything, the Xbox One S is ready for a near future where even toasters can upscale images to 4K.

The disadvantages of the console remained the same: for example, we did not like the installation of games on the HDD that took too long. The console's GPU power is quite modest, which is why multi-platform projects are often released on Xbox One with a lower resolution. Probably, for market balance, a black version is still missing, although the white console looks very nice. But it's easy to put up with all this for the sake of good games- and this time you won’t have to look for a place for a hefty power supply or fiddle with the “mandatory” Kinect 2.0.

The verdict is very simple: if you are going to buy a console from Microsoft, then you should choose the Xbox One S! If you already have an Xbox One, then it might make sense to upgrade and get some nice newfangled features. It’s better to leave the first version to collectors and residents of spacious American homes; we now have a much more enjoyable way to play the main exclusives like Gears of War and Forza Horizon.

    Let's finish analyzing the appearance not entirely with external elements, but rather with internal ones: let's mention such an important fact that the xbox one x has cooling with an evaporation chamber. This made the console the quietest on the market. Compact, powerful, quiet, and even with a built-in power supply - bravo Microsoft engineers!

    What's inside - comparison of fillings and characteristics

    The main advantage of the Xbox One X is the significant hardware upgrade. As a result, the console’s power indicators are several times higher than those of competitors on the market. Let's take a closer look at the characteristics:

    The performance of the Xbox One X is 6.0 Teraflops, which is not small. If we compare these figures with the two previous consoles, this is 4.5 times more. As we can see above, the Xbox One offers 1.23 - TFLOPS, while the Model S offers 1.4 TFLOPS.

    The processor clock frequency has been increased, and significantly. Previous models had 1.75 GHz on board and no more, but the Xbox One X managed to reach 2.3 GHz. All thanks to a custom 8-core processor based on AMD Jaguar. The GPU was expanded to 40 units. If we compare it with the original model and the xbox one s, both had 12 blocks.

    The latest Microsoft console also has more RAM - the xbox one x has 12 GB of GDDR5 built-in, while the S and the regular One have only 8 GB of DDR3. By updating the RAM, which is used by both the system and the graphics core, as well as due to the new graphics core, the set-top box supports gaming in 4K resolution with a frame rate of about sixty.

    Improvements have not bypassed the hard drive of the console. The xbox one x 1 TV's built-in hard drive reads and writes 50% faster than lower-end models. Note that this is due to both the hard drive and the improvements to the entire hardware of the console.

    Considering the power that the Xbox One X is ready to offer, it is logical to assume that the console is “powered” accordingly - power consumption will reach up to 245W. If we compare it with the S model, then for it this figure is 120W. However, Microsoft representatives claim that their latest console independently selects the right amount of power depending on the load. Actually, like all modern consoles and electronic devices.

    Comparing hardware, we can say that xbox one x is the most powerful console not only in the Microsoft family, but also in the world. Remember our installation of xbox one x and ps4 pro. Even PS4 pro is inferior in some respects. However, the question is still whether to buy X or S and whether it is worth replacing the original xbox with a new one. And if it is, then again we return to the first question. So let's move on.

    Field test - comparison of graphics in games

    All games on Xbox One X and Xbox One S look better than on the original box. We also note that the original model supports a maximum of 1080p. But 4K is available not only on the Xbox one X, but also on the S. It may seem that the Xbox one s is a better deal - the console is cheaper and at the same time allows you to enjoy even the latest projects in 4K resolution. To understand whether there is a difference in graphics and how big this difference is between X and S, I suggest comparing the graphics in games:

    At first glance it may seem that there is no difference. But, starting at 0:37 seconds of the video, when the camera moves to the view from the hood, we see a difference in the reflection of the environment on the same hood. On Xbox one X, your surroundings are reflected more clearly. How important this is and whether it’s worth overpaying $200 for it is up to you to decide. My opinion is not worth it.

    We also note that both Xbox one X and S support HDR 10. Therefore, if you have an appropriate output device, you can enjoy more advanced graphics in games than on a regular Xbox One. As for Full HD screens, the graphics on the Xbox One X will look more attractive on them than on the original console and than on the S version. Therefore, it is not true to say that the xbox one x is only for 4K displays. See the difference in FullHD between Xbox one X and Xbox one below:

    As you can see, the difference is more noticeable than between X and S. However, if you are not an avid graphomaniac, you will not get much less pleasure from playing on a regular Xbox one. Of course, it’s no longer worth buying a classic Xbox one, but as for a replacement, you should first of all think about the question of how important graphics in games are to you personally. The answer to this question will be the answer to the replacement question.

    Since 4K support and other features were provided simultaneously to the S and X models, you will most likely want to know why you should choose the second option. There is even a section dedicated to this topic on the official Microsoft website. It details what the Xbox One X benefits and what you're paying for. There is also a list of games that look better on the Model X. This list includes: Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza 7, Titanfall 2, Shadow of War, Gears of War 4 and Assassins Creed Origins. However, there is no hope for super quality on the X version. All the games on the list, as we saw above, don’t look much worse on the S version of the console. In fairness, we note that Gears of War 4, Assassins Creed Origins and Forza 7 show stable 60 fps only on Xbox one X.

    And now Gears of War 4, but compared to Xbox one S:

    Fans of multiplayer games will find it useful to know that now popular game Fortnite also gives 60 fps only on Xbox consoles One X. If you like these types of projects and know what you will spend in them great amount hours, as well as your motto: “60 fps and not a frame less,” then the choice between Microsoft consoles is obvious.

    Verdict

    If you still have the original Xbox One and the graphics in games are the most important thing for you, then feel free to change the console to the Xbox one X. If the graphics are not the most important thing, calmly enjoy the games on the original Xbox one. I don’t think it’s advisable to switch from a classic console to Xbox one S.

    For those who do not have a console and chose Microsoft consoles, there is only one question to answer: are you willing to overpay for graphics? If the answer is yes, then you can safely take the Xbox One X and enjoy both exceptionally clear 4K pictures and comfortable gaming on a FullHD screen with 60 fps in all games. We advise everyone else to save money and buy an Xbox One S - the console is enough for modern games in FullHD and even 4K.

    Thank you very much for your attention to the article. Unfortunately, the comment block is not ready yet. Therefore, if you have any questions, then leave them under a similar video on my topic YouTube channel. I will be glad to answer all your questions.

The release of two major gaming consoles of the new generation took place, numerous reviews told readers about each of them, and it’s time to ask the question, who is in the lead? Reviewers at Cnet.com believe that the PlayStation 4 is winning so far, although not by much. In reviews on the site, both of them received 3.5 points, but the extended rating for PS4 is 7.5 points versus 7 points for Xbox One.

Three and a half stars by Cnet standards is a good indicator, indicating that both systems have a good set of functionality and hardware characteristics. However, she also says that reviewers see no reason to rush to buy any of the presented consoles as soon as possible, in their current unfinished state.

PlayStation 4 - left, XBox One - right

Design: Xbox One - 7.0, PS4 - 8.0

Design includes both the design of hardware components and housing, as well as software. In both cases, the advantage is on PlayStation's side. From a hardware point of view, the main advantage is the power supply integrated into the console, while the Xbox One, like the Xbox 360, uses a large external unit. This is especially noteworthy considering that the PS4 is still smaller in size than its competitor.

As for the user interface, everyone must decide for themselves which one they like best. The PS4 interface is an upgrade from the previous version, with support for features such as multitasking and a broadcast hub. Xbox One has a very dynamic interface, however, from time to time you can feel lost in it (the same can be said about Windows 8). This is partly due to the tight integration of the Kinect controller and voice commands into the control process, which do not always work as perfectly as planned by the developers. For example, the console does not always respond to commands, forcing you to repeat them again (in especially severe cases, forcing you to add some unprintable expressions to them).

Ecosystem: Xbox One - 6.0, PS4 - 6.0

The range of games and applications available at the time of console release is not at all amazing. At the same time, the Microsoft console has an advantage in the number of exclusive games available on it. This Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome and Forza Motorsport 5, while the PS4 has Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack. There are other games for each console, but nothing particularly noteworthy among them. A number of notable games like FIFA 14 and NBA 2K14 are available on both consoles.

The big drawback of both consoles is the fact that they currently lack compatibility with games for previous generation consoles. The problem in this case is much greater than it was when the Xbox 360 and PS3 appeared, which brought with them such a leap in performance that no one wanted to even remember the old games. In addition, the PS3 was backwards compatible with the PS2, and half of the games for the original Xbox ran on the Xbox 360. Now, many of the recently released games for the Xbox 360 and PS3 are not much inferior to the games for the consoles that replaced them.

For Sony problem the game streaming service Gaikai will have to decide next year, but the company prefers not to talk about the details of how exactly this will be implemented.

Functionality: Xbox One - 8.0, PS4 - 7.0

The word One is in the Xbox One name for a reason. In its console, Microsoft wants to combine all the user's multimedia entertainment into one node and provide access to them through a single interface. This is done using the sophisticated second-generation Kinect sensor and its many outstanding capabilities. This is very different from the gaming-oriented PlayStation 4, in which the developers removed support for standards such as DLNA, CD, MP3 and JPEG.

Instead, some new features have been introduced, such as support for launching PS Vita games using the Remote Play feature, the ability to live stream gameplay and share clips with viewers, plus there is a proprietary camera for augmented reality games and facial recognition. Despite all this, the Xbox One's capabilities seem more "futuristic". For example, this refers to the ability to instantly switch between gaming and watching TV using voice commands, or even simply display both images at the same time.

Microsoft's only problem is its imperfect software. A Cnet review has this to say about it. “After using the Xbox One for a few days, you begin to understand that Microsoft is determined to give the user the opportunity to combine all of their digital entertainment into their console. However, it is also obvious that their plan has not yet been fully realized, and you constantly catch yourself thinking about the incompleteness of this or that function.”

There is also reason to criticize the capabilities of the PS4. The console should be taught to read files from USB drives, as the PS3 can do; the lack of DLNA has already been mentioned. Also, 3D Blu-Ray discs are not supported (as is the case on Xbox One).

Performance: Xbox One - 7.0, PS4 - 8.0

If you compare console processors, the PS4 has a slight advantage, but overall the same games look the same on them. The biggest blow to Xbox performance gets when it comes to controls and navigation. She recognizes voice commands about 75% of the time, which doesn't add any points to her score.

Cost: Xbox One - 6.0, PS4 - 7.0

The PS4 costs $100 less, although the Xbox includes a Kinect controller, while the Sony console requires an additional camera purchase. It costs $60 and is not such a mandatory component of the system. Do not forget that it is extremely difficult to do something on Xbox One without registering in the system Xbox Live, and an annual subscription will cost $60.

On PS4, online play will also require a $50 PlayStation Plus subscription. However, you can do without it and use third-party solutions such as Netflix. Ultimately, if all of the Xbox One's features worked as they should without limitations like lack of DVR support, it would be easier to accept spending an extra $100 on it. Until Microsoft fixes all the bugs, which should happen sooner or later, the PlayStation 4 seems to be a more valuable acquisition. However, this is just the beginning, and if PS4 has won the battle, then the whole war is yet to come.

Andrey Pismenny

The Xbox 360 is a true champion of longevity among gaming consoles. Having gone on sale in November 2005, by November of this year it will celebrate its eighth anniversary. It was the first of the seventh-generation consoles, and with Nintendo and Sony making their moves for the eighth, Microsoft's announcement was long overdue and high hopes were placed on it. And now, finally, it has become officially known: a brand new Xbox One is rushing to replace the “360th”. What is he like and what to expect from him?

Xbox takes over TV

The show didn't start with games: before a company representative came on stage Electronic Arts, to show new series football simulator FIFA, Microsoft representatives talked for half an hour about the television capabilities of the Xbox One. No wonder it appearance Has something in common with a VCR: The One has as much in common with video equipment as it does with game consoles.

Microsoft's goal was to “make TV smarter,” and it seems to have succeeded. On stage, it was demonstrated how a TV connected to an Xbox One can be turned on by voice (or rather, the console is turned on by voice, which, in turn, activates the TV). The user is greeted with a “personal home screen” that is both similar to the current Xbox 360 start screen and new interface Windows 8.

Tellingly, games on the Xbox One start screen are not even listed as the first item in the list of options. My Pins, Home and Trending come first, followed by TV Shows and Movies, Music and Apps.

Most of all in the Microsoft presentation, they emphasized that the Xbox One will make it much easier to control the TV: thanks to the set-top box, it will respond to voice commands. It’s enough to say “Xbox, watch TV”, and the console will switch to television, and in response to the question “what is currently on such and such a channel?” The TV program guide will be displayed. The only thing that is not yet clear is whether the set-top box transmits the signal through itself or whether we are talking about IP television. However, in both cases there is very little hope that the television functions shown will work in Russia.

Xbox One outside and inside

Unlike Sony, which decided not to show the Playstation 4 during the first announcement, Microsoft has everything ready here: not only photos, but also a working prototype were demonstrated. Some of its characteristics are also known.

The Xbox One processor has eight cores and a total of “five billion transistors.” Its frequency is not specified, but it is known that the architecture this time is quite ordinary: like PS4, Xbox One will run on a chip of the x86-64 family. It also has 8 GB of RAM, a 500 GB hard drive, USB 3.0 ports, Wi-Fi 802.11n support, a Blu-ray drive, and HDMI input and output. It will probably be possible to connect some other video console to the input and be able to ask the Xbox One by voice to display the image from it.

The set-top box will come with a new version of the Kinect sensor, which is now equipped with a camera with a 1080p resolution. It is claimed that Kinect will now be able to take into account the slightest movements, and even read the pulse while charging.

The standard controller has also undergone changes - and although it looks very similar to its predecessor, Microsoft has counted as many as 40 differences. In particular, the D-Pad has undergone changes (it supposedly has become more accurate), the triggers are now equipped with a recoil system, and the compartment where the batteries are placed is no longer removable. It also seems that the controller now has a gyroscope built into it, and games will be able to use information about its tilt in one way or another.

A few words about the software

Microsoft representatives shared a terrible secret with the public: the Xbox One has not one operating system, but three - Xbox OS, the Windows kernel and a third kernel, which is designed to switch between them and provide multitasking.

Was it worth making a fence like this? complex system? On the one hand, all this looks categorically inelegant, on the other hand, if it makes no difference to the user, then why not? The Windows kernel is clearly designed for applications, and Xbox system- for games. The only pity is that this did not allow for backward compatibility with the Xbox 360, but even here the reasons are not difficult to explain: the transition to x86 excludes the launch of applications written for PowerPC.

But Microsoft is proud of how quickly new console allows you to switch between different types activities: watching a movie is replaced by a game literally in one moment, the same thing in reverse side. The screen can also be divided into two parts, like in the tablet version of Windows 8. This feature is called Snap Mode, and its best use is probably using Skype while playing a game or watching a movie.

Xbox Live

The Xbox Live service also received special mention at the presentation. It has several functions that deserve all sorts of praise, and one that is very dubious.

First - about the good. If earlier consoles did not even allow you to take a screenshot, now both Playstation 4 and Xbox One will allow you to record video and share it with friends via Xbox Live. The Xbox One will have a special interface for recording and editing video - a “game video recorder,” as Microsoft representatives called it. The second useful thing is storing game shipments on the server. Previously, this option also existed, but it was part of a paid membership to Xbox Live Gold.

Another good news would be the ability to play games without changing disks in the drive: you just need to install each game once, then put it back in the box and never take it out again - the data copied to the hard drive will be enough. But there are rumors that such a scheme will have an unpleasant downside: once copied to disk, the game will be tied to an account, and install it on another account It won't work anymore. Perhaps Microsoft will offer to pay a certain installation fee for each subsequent account.

In this case, you should also prepare for the fact that installing games will require an Internet connection. However, an even more terrible rumor was popular earlier - about the need for a constant connection to the Network, but at least it turned out to be incorrect.

Interactive entertainment

Microsoft said a lot about how television, thanks to the Xbox One, will become much more interactive and viewers will be able to communicate with friends while watching. However, they didn’t show how exactly and only boasted about various amenities that fans of American football can surround themselves with.

The real sensation was caused by another announcement: a television series will be shot based on the Halo game universe, which will have some interactive capabilities. The project is being produced by Steven Spielberg, and although no details were revealed from the stage, Halo fans (which are the majority of Xbox owners) were very pleased.

And games too

Players, of course, are primarily interested in looking not at television gadgets, but at new games with realistic graphics. Here, alas, the presentation was not so exciting. Except sports games EA showed Forza Motorsport 5 racing, a short trailer from Remedy’s new project called Quantum Break, and announced Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The public was given only a glimpse of what the graphics would look like in real games, and even then, from the short screensavers, it was mostly impossible to understand where the game graphics were and where the pre-render.

In the Ghosts screenshots, the soldiers' equipment and faces, as well as the jungle, look very impressive and detailed. It’s clear that this is a huge step forward compared to the previous generation of consoles, but you shouldn’t expect the Xbox One to do anything out of the ordinary in terms of graphics. In terms of characteristics, it is similar to the Playstation 4, besides, competing consoles now use processors with the same architecture, and developers will have another reason not to distinguish between versions of games for different platforms.

In total, Microsoft promises fifteen exclusive games at the start of sales of the console (that is, until the end of this year), and half will be new franchises, and not regular sequels. The games will be revealed in more detail at E3 in mid-June, and Microsoft had better have time to prepare a shocking presentation in the remaining month. This is the only surefire way to please gamers, and no TV feature can replace it.

Design

Design is the first thing that everyone pays attention to when choosing any technology. The Xbox One is quite heavy.

His dimensions more than those already known to us. Exact dimensions of the attachment - 274 x 79 x 333 mm.

Despite the trend of constant reduction in technology with the release of each new model, they decided to make the new console larger than previous models.

However, despite its size, it is still convenient to carry, and if you plan to install the device and moving it is not important, there will be no problems with the new dimensions.

Housing material made of plastic. Externally, the parts of the box differ in texture - a combination of matte and glossy parts are used.

The power supply is highlighted on the case. Also, on the top of the console there is a grille that releases air to cool the processor.

Assembly

The Xbox One is assembled very high quality. There is nothing to complain about here. All parts of the case are tightly secured, there is no play, crackling or squeaking.

All connectors and buttons are located on the back of the console.

The power button is super sensitive. Don’t be surprised if the set-top box turns on even while wiping the case of dust.

The following types of connectors are available for connecting external screens and other devices:

  • Two ports (in and out);
  • S/P-DIF;
  • Connector for connecting to the network;
  • Output for ;
  • 2 standard USB ports;
  • A third USB output is built into the side of the case for more convenient and quick connection of a flash drive.

As you can see, the new generation of Xbox does not support older types of interfaces.

The new set-top box can only be connected to digital devices; analog devices will not be supported.

Sales have already started in the CIS latest version consoles from Microsoft, however, on popular trading platforms You can still find advertisements for the sale of American versions of the gaming station.

If you decide to purchase this option, remember that the Xbox for the USA will only work with a voltage of 110V, so it cannot be connected to our outlets without a special adapter.

Bottom line

The design of the console is not very different from previous models.

Thanks to a more powerful processor cooling system, bugs, overheating and freezes will now occur much less frequently.

Specifications

All gaming consoles, in particular market leaders Microsoft, are trying to use new technologies and...

Detailed technical specifications of Xbox One:

  • CPU . Hybrid AMD Jaguar, clocked at 1.75 GHz. Pretty good power that promises us good level performance in games. Number of cores – 8. Supported bit sizes – x86 and x65;
  • Video card (GPU). with support for 768 cores (12 calculation units). The processor frequency is 853 MHz;
  • HDD . 500 GB, 138 of which are occupied by the system;
  • RAM – 8 GB. The device bandwidth is 68.3 GB per second. Also in new version the console has an additional 32 MB of eSRAM memory available;
  • Connection . 11n wireless protocol with Wi-Fi Direct function;
  • Optical drive . Available to use DVD or .

Compared to previous models, new xbox has greater processing power of the central processor.

But the video card parameters are inferior to gadgets from Sony. This is why developers release the same game for different platforms with completely different quality.

For Xbox, programmers slightly lower the frames per second parameter so that the game fits well with the console's hardware components.

This has virtually no effect on the quality of the picture itself; the human eye does not notice discrepancies in the frames. And the Xbox One shows a pretty good and bright picture in any game.

Gamepad

When examining a new joystick, it will be very difficult to name all the distinctive features of the part from older gamepads.

appearance of the gamepad for Xbox One

According to the developers, the main changes affected the inside of the gamepad. Externally, you can only notice the following details:

  • Deflection between end buttons. It has become smoother thanks to the use of a glossy texture. A more simplified key layout technology made it possible to achieve leveling of the surface throughout the joystick. Now it’s much more pleasant to press the buttons and it’s easier to navigate their location;
  • Now the battery compartment does not stick out. The designers took into account the wishes of gamers and decided to remove this part inside the device. By the way, the gamepad still runs on two AA batteries;
  • The cross-shaped button has acquired a clearer geometric shape and no longer sticks out. On the contrary, it is now set quite deep into the body.

The joystick handles have a stronger bevel, which allows the player to better grip the joystick.

The general arrangement of all control buttons has also changed - they are shifted closer to each other.

Gamepad material: plastic. The design of the element has a very smooth matte texture that allows the hand not to slip. I can't assemble the new gamepad.

After the game it remains in its original condition.

The navigation keys have become slightly wider, making it even easier to control movement in the game. In addition, the buttons no longer make unaccustomed clicks and crackles.

Despite its apparent simplicity and lightness, the gamepad is quite weighty. However, this is only a plus, because gamers did not like weightless joysticks.

back side of the joystick for Xbox One

Gamepad features

Among the new functional features of the gamepad, one cannot help but notice the improved response of the touch panel. There is a high-quality built-in speaker and LED indicator.

The names of some keys have also changed. Instead of the usual Start and Back, Menu and View now appear.

They received not only new names, but also support for additional functions in gameplay. For example, by clicking on View you can instantly switch open tabs in the browser or menu items in the game.

As for the joystick's power supply, there are no significant changes. It is also wireless and runs on simple AA batteries.

The only drawback– this is the operating time of these batteries. The gamepad discharges quite quickly, so to continue the game you should have new batteries or a Mini-USB cable in stock.

Connect it to the side one on the gadget body.

Also, gamers can purchase the Play & Charge Kit accessory - this is a battery for the joystick that allows you to replace the batteries.

When this battery runs low, you can connect a wire to the joystick, continuing the game and charging the battery.

In addition to these functions, the accessory allows you to track where the joystick is located. A very convenient feature, because everyone often forgets where they put the gamepad.

When you watch a movie, the Play & Charge Kit automatically turns on the power saving mode.

Great news for PC users - the Xbox One joystick is compatible with Windows 8/10.

To connect the joystick you need to go to the official website.

Also, you can wait for the official system update to arrive; all released drivers will be installed automatically.

Kinect 2.0 camera

One cannot help but pay attention to the improved second generation Kinetic camera. Now it covers the picture much better, because viewing angles have increased by more than 20% - 70 degrees horizontally and 60 degrees vertically.

While old version While the camera was weak at detecting movement, the new Kinetic does an excellent job of detecting objects.

In games you can now even do without it (if the game supports gesture control via the built-in camera).

appearance of the case with the Kinect 2.0 camera

The camera resolution is 1080p, which allows you to easily reproduce images in Full HD quality. The camera frequency is 30 frames per second.

Thanks to improved functionality, the camera is now able to recognize up to six people in one frame, even in poor lighting.

With the new camera you will be able to read . This makes life easier when you need to enter a long key in a game or program.

Instead, just scan the picture that is drawn next to the key. Among other camera features, heartbeat detection. This part is necessary for sports-themed games.

There are also changes to the camera's built-in microphone. Now the voice is recognized better. Please note that only English commands can be used to control the set-top box by voice.

The console operating system does not yet understand Russian or any other language.

English speech is recognized without problems, even if you speak with a strong accent or pronounce certain words incorrectly.

Xbox One operating system and interface

After turning on the console for the first time, the user needs to configure the system. It's not difficult and the procedure is very similar to setting up a newly installed Windows:

Xbox One shell start page
