If desired, the finished painting can be varnished - with a brush or from an aerosol can. In the latter case, the coating will be more uniform and you will be able to avoid smudges. At this stage, you can get more sophisticated by using various crackle effects or aging of the coating - the main thing is to have a sense of proportion, because such decor is not suitable for all subjects.

For example, on a puzzle depicting the seasons, you can place a room thermometer or a tear-off calendar on the side.
