The War Thunder modding community has already been created great amount non-standard missions, many of which will be very useful for training and testing tanks/planes, including those that you have not even explored yet. We will consider several such missions for training (and more) further.

Tank range

Jet missions

Players who prefer tank battles, as a rule, do not pump the aircraft branch, but they also probably would not refuse to fight on a jet plane. How to fly a MiG 15 in this case?

Custom missions for War Thunder with jets will allow you to fly any aircraft equipped with a jet turbine. To do this, you don’t have to spend a long time and tediously pumping up the entire branch, starting with the dull, clumsy “whatnots”. This method of using the MiG 15 is only suitable for a single mission. To take part in an online battle, you will have to upgrade the entire branch of jet aircraft!

How to install custom missions

Installation additional missions created using the CDK is simple: the downloaded archive file must be placed in the main War Thunder folder in the UserMissions directory.

Mission content files with the .blk extension must be located in the folder with its name!

To launch the downloaded mission, restart the game client and open the “Battles” section in the main menu, and then go to “Custom Missions”. If the mission doesn't start, you may have unpacked it incorrectly: check that all files are in the target directory. It is possible that the archive is damaged - then you will need to download it again. How to play a certain mission is usually indicated in its description.

In this post I will tell you how you can fly absolutely any aircraft in War Thunder in a Custom Mission to test it and for other purposes. The aircraft may not have been researched or purchased. This became possible only recently.

First, you need to download the archive with flight models and mission and unpack it into the War Thunder folder, or unpack and copy everything into the War Thunder folder. Download.

Let's check. When you enter the game (you don’t have to leave), select from the menu Custom missions. You must see the mission.

Try turning it on. If done correctly, you should be on the N1K2-Ja Shiden-Kai plane next to the group of B-24s. Arrows are off. You can fly. The aircraft will have Standard characteristics.

Now how to change the plane (this can be done without leaving the mission). Find the file in the game folder units2.csv(it contains the names of all units in Russian, English and their internal names) and open it in MS Excel, OpenOffice Calc, or, at the very least, notepad or any other text editor. For example, I want to fly Attacker FB 1. Call up the search by pressing Ctrl+F and enter attacker (or enter the name of the aircraft as in the hangar).

We copy the name from the cell highlighted in red, corresponding to the aircraft we need. Then go to the folder \WarThunder\UserMissions\ and open the file aircraft_test.blk Notepad or another text editor (not MS Word).

We scroll to a fragment of text as in the screenshot.

Now highlight the name of the aircraft between the quotation marks ( n1k2_jko_type1) and insert what we need ( attacker_fb1_0). Important! Change _0 at the end of the name to _type1. That is, now it will not be attaker_fb1_0, but attaker_fb1_type1. Do the same for any other aircraft. _0 You can also change the enemy aircraft, just delete _0 (For example, we want to change B-24 to B-29. We look for B-29 in the table, insert b-29_0 instead of b_24d and remove

Return to the game, press Esc, Play again. You will appear on a new plane. Not all planes that can be flown are listed in the table. See the folder for all the names of planes you can fly on..

All of these aircraft can be used in your Custom missions. They can be created using the War Thunder CDK or downloaded from live.warthunder.com.

In the mission, it is possible to increase the speed to 800 km/h (press the bomb release button) and up to 600 km/h (press the missile release button).

Not into history, of course, but into the game and, accordingly, into that very beloved atmosphere of the Second World War. This is done using a tool such as custom missions for War Thunder. Vas ist das?

The developers of Var Thunder are extremely democratic - not only is the game free and there are a lot of goodies for players, but they decided to go further and invite players to create their own battles, planes, camouflage and even locations. Moreover, this proposal is not at the level of “Photoshop to help you.” The developers have provided their own tool with which you can draw all this and make it work.

In principle, creating a simple mission will not be difficult. By default, when you open the CDK, the “Britain” location is launched, you can play mischief on it, or you can select any other through the Scene View menu button. Next, go to the Mission Settings section, select the location already installed there and give our mission a name. There you can set the time of day, weather and all that stuff. After that, click Create Unit and create an airplane. Hotkey P opens the unit’s properties, where you need to select the aircraft class, weapons and indicate that this is the player’s aircraft. We save the mission and you’re done – you can fly.

Created, what next?

Creating missions is not as fun as playing them, especially if they are created by yourself. Of course, errors, crashes, and other inconsistencies can happen, so working with the War Thunder CDK is real opportunity put yourself in the shoes of a programmer and beta tester. It’s just a pity that you won’t be able to drive tanks - in CDK you can only work with aircraft, and for ground vehicles, at best you can fill in camouflage. However, Var Thunder as a project is not finished yet, let’s hope there will be a celebration on the tankers’ street.

What about the profit?

There is also a profit. And in real money. True, not everyone will achieve such heights, but only the most talented, successful and rich in imagination. The game developers carefully monitor user content, and if they find a truly noteworthy mission, location, plane or camouflage, welcome to the team! The most successful content can be added to the game, and then you will directly profit, because for the fact that other players use your invention, real money will be transferred to you.

There is, however, a fly in the ointment - since the game is currently actively developing, no one (even the developers) knows whether the custom missions you so painstakingly created will be compatible with future updates. Of course, when it comes to this, the developers will warn all inventors in advance and, probably, even give them some kind of small bonus.

In general, if you have a creative streak, try creating custom missions, you might like it. And if you are a purely gamer, try playing them, there are some very interesting ones. In war thunder, missions allow the player to gain experience, gain new skills and just have fun. While newcomers understand game processes and sit on the main maps, experienced gamers can go through special war thunder missions that are created by users. The developers took care of their players and created a platform where each user can develop their own campaign. Moreover, everything was not done at the “figure it out yourself” level. This is a full-fledged designer with which you can create your own battles, vehicles, camouflage and full-fledged locations. You can draw all this yourself and make it work.

Custom missions for war thunder allow you to try new sensations, practice strategy and just have fun. On the official website of the game you can download a designer that will allow you to create unique campaigns. Run the installation file, wait until it is installed on your computer, and run the program.

How to create a campaign in War Thunder

The simplest mission can be created without any skills at all. When you open the program, the “Britain” location will immediately launch. You can start making a game right here, or you can change it through the Scene View menu. Next, you should go to the Mission Settings section, select the installed location and start making a campaign, giving it a name.

The settings set the time of day, weather conditions and other data that allow you to diversify the game. Click on Create Unit and create the plane. When you press the P key, a menu will open where you can set the characteristics of the machine. Save them and you can start flying.

Unfortunately, the development options only include aircraft, you will not be able to get tanks or ships. But if you prefer to fly, then it's great fun to create your own unique campaigns.

How to set a user mission

So, let's figure out how to install custom missions in war thunder. You can launch them in the game and go through them either alone or in the company of other players. If the game is created for the Internet, then the following requirements must be met:

• The mission must be adapted for multiplayer battles, which means that teams need to have respawn zones.
• You need to use an existing game location.
• There must be an initiator (session creator). To comply with this clause, you must purchase any product in game store for amounts starting from $10.

If all conditions are met, you can enjoy the multiplayer game. To start, follow these steps:

1. Open the mission in LIVE and click the "Copy mission link" button.
2. Enter the game, open the battle window, go to the “Proving Ground” tab.
3. Next, click the “Create session” button, select “sessions by URL” and add a mission.
4. Give your campaign a name and paste the copied link into the field.

Now all that remains is to launch the mission and open it to all players. You'll be testing your campaign right away.

Single player mode

If you want to play on your own, have fun and practice your skills, the mode is enough single player. For example, you want to create a unique location and test it. This is possible, the startup instructions are as follows:

1. On the official website of the game you need to find the mission you are interested in or find your created campaign there. Download it.
2. On the computer in the folder with installed game you need to find the UserMissions folder. The downloaded file with the .blk format must be added to this folder.
3. Launch the game, go to the battles tab and select custom missions. There you will find the campaign that you previously downloaded and can launch it.

Custom campaigns are fun to play. You can simply have a good time, practice your skills and practice new tactics and strategies. It is worth noting that the developers monitor user missions and note noteworthy sessions.

If your project is among them, the company will offer you payments. Moreover, it is not necessary that everything be perfect.
