Checkers is a very exciting game that has conquered many. This seemingly simple game was played by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and in our time checkers have not lost their relevance. Board

The board for playing checkers consists of light and dark cells alternating with each other. When playing checkers, you must follow the rules. Usually an 8 by 8 board is used, it must be placed so that there is a dark square in front of the players in the lower left corner, just like in chess.

Each cell has its own name, consisting of a number or a letter with a number, so you can write down the game. When a move is made, the initial and final cells in the game are written through a dash, in order to indicate a battle, all the fields through which the game piece has passed must be written down, a colon is used instead of a dash.

How to start playing checkers.

Before the start of the game, the checkers must be placed on the cells. There will be only black cells in the case, and the checkers themselves are placed in even stripes on the dark cells closest to the player, there should be an empty gap in the middle of the board. Checkers must be divided into black and white and placed on one half of the board white, on the other black.

White starts the game, and then the moves take turns. If one player has no more possible moves left, then the game is over.

Moving regular checkers

Simple checkers have the ability to move only diagonally forward one cell only if it is not occupied. Kings can be moved or beat in any direction diagonally.

In Turkish checkers, kings move horizontally and vertically. Some types of checkers allow the king to move to any number of cells per move, while others only to one, and to beat only nearby checkers.

During the fight with the king, there is one rule of the “Turkish strike”: the field with the beaten checker cannot be crossed by the king twice (first the king flies to the final cell, and only after that you can remove the opponent’s beaten checkers from the board.
