Search base.

Our spawn point is usually the center of the map. It is much more profitable to discover the nearest area and choose the most suitable one for us on the very first day. (Minicap - TAB)
It is best to settle not far (a screen distance of two) from beefalo or pigs. On a glade biome, next to a savannah or forest.

After collecting the items, we return to the chosen place (which may later become our main base) and set up a fireplace on it. Why a fireplace? Burns better, there is a mark on the map, constant use.

  • Worm-hole: Portal for moving from one part of the map to another. Lowers sanity when moving. 2 wormholes are always connected. Teleports friendly creatures behind us.
  • Pig House: House for pigs. At night, a light burns in them.
  • Cocoon: House for spiders. Has 3 stages of growth. There is a web around the cocoon that slows down movement.
  • Karst sinkhole: The entrance to the caves, littered with stones. You shouldn't go there without gear.
  • Grave:("-It says here: Milk. Eggs. Bacon") It is a small earthen pile. They often have a headstone. You can also find a whole cemetery in the forest.
  • Altar: It is a shard of stone, surrounded by the heads of pigs impaled on the peak. If we activate the altar, then after death we will be reborn on it. Once destroyed, the portal cannot be used again.
  • Roads: Connect the game world. They speed up us by 50 percent. Are displayed on the map.
  • Pond:For fishing. There are several types, depending on the location.
  • Maxwell's portal: If you collect 5 strange parts for the portal, you can be transported to the newly generated world and change the character.

We will also meet skeletons. Apparently those who were not too lucky before us. Near the skeletons there are always useful items related to the type of activity. For example, near the skeleton of a beekeeper, there is usually a beekeeper's hat, a mine and a net.

Rocky lands.

You can find: Stones, gold nuggets, flint, saltpeter, eggs of tall birds.
Can be found: Ravens, tall birds, spiders.

Peculiarities: There are practically no plants in this biome, it is impossible to plant something. Lots of spider cocoons. Gold nuggets, stones and flint lie on the ground.
Loot: Meat, monster meat, spider iron, spider webs, tall bird egg.

Polyana. ("-Butterflies, flowers")

Can be found: Tree, flowers, berry bushes, carrots, grass. Rare items in the clearing: Mandrake, stones.
Can be found: Bees, rabbits, butterflies, birds, spiders, killer bees.

Peculiarities: Lots of resources and animals. The nicest biome to build a base.
Loot: Piece of meat, honey, sting, monster meat, spider iron, spider web, oil, butterfly wings.

Savannah. ("-Thatched wasteland")

Can be found: Wood, grass, stones, flowers.
Can be found: Beefalo, rabbits, birds, butterflies.

Peculiarities:Big square. Beefalo live only in this biome. It is wise to settle close to this biome, in the interest of defending against aggressive creatures.
Loot: Beefalo Wool, Meat, Beefalo Horn, Dung, Oil, Butterfly Wings, a Piece of Meat.

Swamp. ("Eww

You can find: Reed, thorny tree, pond, thorny bush.
Can be found: Tentacles, merms, frogs, mosquitoes, spiders and crows.

Peculiarities: One of the most dangerous biomes due to the presence of swamp monsters. Due to the close proximity, the monsters fight with each other. You can collect a lot of loot.

Practical gardening


First you need to choose where we want to garden. At or near their home base. I prefer the close-up option as it removes the clutter of beds, dryers and chests.

It is advisable that the farm is located near Beefalo, for more convenient collection of manure. It is also worth remembering that if the House of Pigs is near, then they will eat up the seeds.

Created for a constant supply of fruits and vegetables. We plant seeds, fertilize and after a while we get botany for cooking sweets in a cauldron. For a start, 4-6 beds are enough for us.

On the beds can grow: Carrots; Corn; Eggplant; Pumpkin; Garnet; Durian; Pitaya.

Useful information: The beds are of limited use (20-30). After that, additional fertilization is required. Although it is much easier to break and build another in its place. Some vegetables grow from seeds much more often (such as carrots, corn). The seeds only grow during the day. Growth also stops if the temperature is below 5 degrees. At high temperatures and with rain, growth increases by 100%. To grow the plant we need, we need to give its raw fruit to a bird in a cage. The seeds that she gives are 100% likely to grow into the plant we need. For fertilization of the beds it is used: Manure; Rot; Rotten eggs and guano. They will increase the growth rate.

Breeding bushes, branches and grass:

What for? We will always have the necessary resources nearby.
It's simple. We take a shovel and go to stroll around the map. We dig out berry bushes x20, branches x20, grass x20. The bonus will be restocking.

Upon returning to the farm, we plant in a convenient place for us and fertilize. After 5-6 days, the bushes will begin to bear fruit.

Advice: It is better to plant berry bushes in small heaps, at a distance from each other. for there is always the possibility of a lightning strike that will burn everything to ashes and make us weep over the charred bushes and trees. So after the transplant, we look for gold nuggets in our pockets. Objective: to make a lightning rod as soon as possible.

First of all, we need dryers.

Bird hunting:

We create 4-6 traps for birds, put bait (Birds can get trapped without it), it can be berries, seeds, meat or that indigestible baidovina that we cooked up in a cauldron. We update after a while.

Spiders:

An endless source of spider glands, spider webs and meat. It is advisable to have several pig houses nearby and, if necessary, set them on spiders.

To destroy the cocoon, we use rabbit traps. After some of the spiders are caught, we calmly destroy the cocoon of any level. Destroy only if dangerous location.

Pigs:

Butterflies:

It is best to catch butterflies while exploring the map and plant them near the farm (they will turn into flowers). It is advisable to plant not in the player's line of sight, otherwise they will not appear. In this case, we will always have the opportunity to quickly get butterfly wings. It also increases the chance of getting oil.

Excess butterflies can be put in the chest, since they have no expiration date, or you can make Muffins out of them.

Home apiary:

We put the created Hives at a small distance from the farm, and turn the butterflies into flowers. In this case, we will always have a lot of honey.

For collecting honey from our bees, it is better to use Beekeeper hat... For an attempt at vandalism, the bees will show aggression.

Fireflies:
Can be caught with a net and released at the base. In the evening they shine very beautifully. They will be useful to us in the future.


Beefalo:

An endless source of dung, wool and, in rare cases, meat. It also provides us with protection from aggressive creatures.

Beefalo hat will protect us from the attacks of these creatures during the mating season.

Fishing:

We need a fishing rod and a pond.
Before starting fishing, it is best to kill the nearby frogs. You can make delicious sandwiches from their paws in a cauldron ^^

Starting from day 3, while chopping trees, there is a chance of a boss spawning. Hounds can also come running. In this case, you need to take them to the pigs or beefalo.

The main advice is to always monitor the parameters of health, sanity and hunger. Exploring the territory you need to collect useful materials. During this time you will meet.

No need to try to kill someone without proper armor and weapons. With the help of a shovel, we dig out various sweets to plant near our base. Important: after transplanting, they will require fertilization. If there are different bushes near the base, do not touch them, but just harvest.

Gardening

This topic has a place to be. It will help to stock up on food resources. First you need to choose a place for gardening. It is best to build beds near Biffalo. Because you can quickly get manure and immediately fertilize the beds with it.

Each bed has a resource of use. After 20-30 plantings, for normal plant growth, you need to throw more manure into the garden bed. It is easier to build a new bed in the same place.

In the beds you can grow: corn, carrots, pumpkin, pomegranate, durian, eggplant, pitaya. Seeds grow during the day and under comfortable temperature conditions (not lower than 5 degrees).

An excellent solution would be to craft a golden bird cage. When we feed a bird with raw food, the bird gives the seeds of this fruit. Also, if you give her a spoiled food or a seed, she will give a fresh seed.

Crafting a cauldron is a cheating secret. It is in the cauldron that products can be stored indefinitely.

Another great solution is to transplant bushes, branches and grass closer to your base. However, without a lightning rod, they will be easily vulnerable to lightning.

Hunting

Here we will consider hunting weak animals and monsters to farm meat and resources. First you need to craft dryers for drying meat. Dried meat keeps well for a long time.

  • Rabbits - we catch with bait. We collect in chests and store until winter
  • Birds - Same as rabbits
  • Spiders - you can place traps near the cocoon and wait. You can aggro them and take them to nearby Biffalo, pigs or tentacles
  • Pigs - you can either set them on the same monsters to get meat and resources

Preparing for winter

Once you are comfortable with the game (this is 17 - 20 days), you need to think about winter. To survive in winter, you need:

  • Food - poultry rabbits, food in a cauldron, jerky and food in the refrigerator
  • Clothes - at least a winter hat
  • Items - Minimum spare torches
  • Weapons for hunting - spear, boomerang. Better darts

Survival in winter

  • You can take the beefalo to the herd and kill it together with the beefalo

When I played for the first time, I can confidently say that this beautiful game reminded me of brutal survival, and it was really difficult to just hold out for a few days. The search for food and light, the falling sanity, the hands of the night, a huge incomprehensible world with a bunch of enemies that kill you with one blow, attacks of hounds, cold and search for food in winter, Cyclops-Deer destroying the first base under your perplexed gaze, the mad movement of spiders and bees in spring with frogs falling on your head, and unreal hell in summer, when everything around, including your character, literally burns out from the heat. Having lived another day, we rejoiced at it like children and reread Vicki, meeting with a new danger ...

Now I can say with confidence that living in Don "t starve together for a couple of hundred days is a very easy task! And the main life hack of Tughezki is older than the world: prepare a sled in Summer, and an endothermic campfire in spring.

We start the game in the fall, and this is the most favorable time in Tughezka. Berries and carrots grow at every turn - you can just eat along the way. The days are long, just one torch is enough to survive the night. The temperature is comfortable, there are a minimum of enemies. There is a feeling that you are not engaged in survival, but are resting at a resort.


So, the tasks for the fall:

1. Scout as much of the map as possible. Find a beefalo.

You need to reconnoiter the map in order to understand where the base will be located. I gave advice on the location and construction of the base in this article.

I repeat that the main task is to find the beefalo. The cows not only supply us with precious dung, but also provide perfect protection from the hounds. We will not have to run from the dogs for three days, on the way thinking where to lose them, then to find them at the most inopportune moment ... Just hearing a roar, we run to the beefals and wait for them to deal with the hounds. And with the help of manure, we will be able to produce food at the base.


In addition, we must understand where the center of the map is generally located, and how to get to key places that will be useful to us in the future: a forest with spiders, a swamp, a desert, a pig village ...

It is convenient to explore the map in autumn: we do not need to sit at the base at night and even just make fires. We make some torches and keep running. The more we know about the map by winter, the better.

2. Build a minimal base.

The base can be completed at any time of the year, but autumn is the perfect place to start. In winter, it will be more difficult without a base. The minimum program: we put a fireplace and an alchemical machine, several cauldrons and a refrigerator (if you find a gear), and, just in case, a couple of chests, so that there is where to put precious resources. If there are several players in the team who know what to do, then in the fall you can rebuild the Taj Mahal. A librarian, for example, can craft a backpack and a shovel for himself from the very first day and dig out bushes along the way to plant at the base, Maxwell can get more than 300 logs in the first 3 days while the Ents are in hibernation. And so on ... The main thing is not to rush and calmly determine the ideal place: the construction of the base does not take much time.


3. Prepare for winter.

It's easier here. Each player should have a thermal stone and some kind of warm little thing for winter so as not to freeze too quickly. The simplest (read effective) is to make a hat from beefalo wool and cobwebs. Of course, the beefalo must first be found for this. A koaloslon sweatshirt is also a great thing, but if you play without mods, it will prevent you from carrying a backpack and will be very uncomfortable to travel the world. The hat will give us warmth, and we will change the backpack for armor, depending on the situation.

Now in detail about the dangers and how to survive in the winter.

Cold is not the worst thing that can happen to our character. Of course, if we are ready for it. As I wrote above, a thermal stone heats up from a fire, and for some time we can be warmed by its heat. The more warm things we wear, the longer the stone will work. If the stone cools down, it will break by a few percent, and we will begin to freeze. The stone is necessary, because warm things in Tughezka do not warm, but can only delay freezing.


In general, armed with a stone and a hat, we will be able to walk a sufficient amount of time to complete any task. If you have to walk far and often - on the main routes it is better to build several fireplaces, and as it freezes, just throw up firewood.

The problem with food seems catastrophic, but if you know how to play, it can also be solved easily. It is only important that there is a cauldron at the base: it will no longer be possible to collect carrots along the way. But you don't have to do any perversions: the meat of the monster is full of hounds and spiders, and berries and vegetables in cooking are often replaced by ice. For example, we throw monster meat and three ice into a cauldron - and we get meatballs. Read more about cooking in another article too.

Therefore, the most common pastime in winter is to chop wood and chop ice with a pickaxe.


Winter fun

By the way, winter in Tugezka gives not only problems, but also interesting opportunities.

First, in winter, walruses appear from their huts. The walrus house is guarded by blue hounds, and he himself shoots darts from a tube, so it is difficult to get close to him alone. But if two of us quickly kill the hounds and chase the walrus, the fighter from him will be so-so - he will just start running away until he meets his death. Rare resources often fall out of the walrus: a “tem-o-shenter” hat, which warms and raises the mind, and a tusk, from which a cane is made. After killing the walrus, he will reappear in the hut after 4 days. And if you find 3-4 huts, then walrus farming will be of great benefit.

Secondly, in winter, a bag of good appears, which can be opened with a horn falling out of a deer. If you try to open it, you will have to kill Klaus, which is very difficult, but the reward will be worth it. There is really enough good in the bag.


So one can not only be afraid of winter in Tughezka, but also wait impatiently, because the dangers, as such, in winter are much less than opportunities. The most unpleasant thing that there is in winter is long nights, because of which the mind is constantly falling. But this is also not a big problem - a few nights in a sleeping bag and you can continue to survive again.

Spring at Don "t starve together

After winter, my favorite time in Tughezka begins - the most fun and most dangerous. Nothing seemingly terrible happens in the spring, however, if you play for the first time, it will be more difficult to survive than in winter.


First, there are constant rains. The first thing to do is an umbrella for each player, and if the Cyclops-Deer is killed - an umbrella. If we find ourselves in the rain without an umbrella, the humidity scale begins to fill up and the items in our inventory get wet. When a certain humidity is reached, we will simply suddenly freeze, and wet objects not only burn worse and deteriorate faster, but also sink our minds at a catastrophic rate.


Secondly, everything around becomes hostile. The number of spiders increases, spider queens periodically appear, all the bees turn red and angry, the breeding season begins and they beat everyone who approaches, sometimes bait flowers appear and spread so quickly that you cannot keep up. In the spring, the game turns into such a mess that all that remains is to walk quieter than water and collect the torn legs. The smartest in Tughezka are rabbits, so in the spring they hide in burrows and do not go out.

During the second day, you need to collect food, which can be enough for a couple of days and decide on the construction site of the camp. Also for this day, it is advisable to collect flowers and make a wreath, which will make it possible to replenish the level of "sanity" of the character.

The camp should be built on the “meadow” biome, since it is on it that the most edible vegetation is located, as well as flowers that are important in the process of playing.

In addition, the camp should be placed on the shore, so you will save on resources in the construction of the wall, since one side becomes protected by the sea.

It is advisable to place the camp near the Biffalo or pigs. Since the former are needed as a source of manure for the construction of beds and fertilization of berry bushes and grass. Pigs can become your allies, provided that you feed them meat. Both types of neighbors can help when attacking hounds or spiders.

Also, before summer comes, it is worth making several "snow machines" that will irrigate the ground in a certain area, preventing the beds or bushes from igniting spontaneously. In addition, vegetables and berries do not grow in hot weather, this machine will allow you not to stop growing them.

6 - create your own farms

  • Different monsters take more damage from certain types of weapons. For example, spiders from fire, hounds from a spear and a spiked stick, McBivnies from fire darts and a shadow sword.
  • When it rains from toads, it is possible to place them in the area where bees or wasps are located. To do this, it is worth running into that area and not going beyond until the end of the rain.
