The name of the K-8 Kryukov assault rifle can be read in different ways - Krukov or Kryukov, which may also be a reference to another game, Red Alert 3, or rather to the same surname of the General of the Soviets.
In the "Bulldozer Mode" there are levels hinting at the games "Left 4 Dead" and "Left 4 Dead 2" - to complete them, you need to destroy the n-th number of zombies using, in particular, a pistol very similar to the pistol with infinite cartridges present in the above games (the only weapon the character has since the beginning of the level).
The game has many references to the second part. In one video, STAG commander-in-chief Cyrus Temple gives the reason for his desire to destroy the Steelport gangs - mentioning a certain Jessica, who was run over by her crazy boyfriend in a Bigfoot while Jessica was in the car he flew over. The Dekkers' style is very similar to the style of the Tron universe. Also, the game played by the protagonist in one of Kinsey's tasks resembles driving on a light cycle, after passing all missions from Kinsey in the garage you can find a light cycle and a tank from the movie "Tron" (1982), also after passing all the missions a car in the style of "Tron" appears in the garage. The very name of the Dekkers gang is presumably a reference to the game Shadowrun, where Dekker was the name of a character class with hacker skills.
Hackersha Kinsey lives in the dock area called Salander, which is a reference to the main character of Stieg Larsson's book trilogy "Millennium" Lisbeth Salander, who is also a hacker.
Mission "Tiger Escort" is a kind of reference to the movie Hangover in Vegas.
Drugs, sex dolls and packs of money, the collection of which is necessary for a full 100% completion of the game, were on the plane of Philip Lauren from which the main character escapes at the very beginning of the game. At the very beginning of the game, jumping out of Lauren's plane, the protagonist makes a remark about too many of these items.
In the mission to steal a supercomputer from the Deckers, Johny Cat is depicted on several screens - the cat from the popular Internet video Charlie Schmidt's Keyboard Cat, but in glasses, a purple T-shirt and a wig resembling Johnny Get's hairstyle. The same computer is in the Saints Penthouse.
Professor Ganki (Japanese "Zhivchik") (a man dressed as a scientist with a cat's head) can be found on the streets of the city. This character has a lot of health and is quite strong. After death, a large amount of money falls from his body (the amounts can be different - from 100,000 to 1,000,000). The professor is a random (random) character. In some places, the chance of meeting him is higher than in others.
A giant purple dildo with a baseball bat handle, used by the hero in close combat, is a kind of joke about the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, where the protagonist could also use a similar "toy" in a fight, but much smaller.
At the very end, when after defeating Kilbane in the mission "Gangsta ... in space" the main character says the phrase "I wanted to live peacefully on Mars", the music from Red Faction: Guerrilla plays.
In a mission where the Saints attack a military base and capture a drone, at the moment the Saints' helicopter appears, the base symbol flashes: a pink unicorn. This is a reference to Red Faction: Armageddon, where the weapon “Mr. Toots ”, which looks exactly the same.

The whole game, in fact, is a kind of "answer" to the game GTA 4 and GTA San Andreas. This is noticeable in many small details, and in particular manifests itself in the similarity of the final missions in both games. In the original ending, the player needs to fight his way through the floors of the monument to the hero of Steelport in order to eventually kill the heavily armored "boss" Kai. Approximately the same actions must be performed in the role of Carl Johnson in San Andreas - to break through several floors of a guarded warehouse and kill Big Smoke. The alternative ending is very similar to the second part of the final mission of GTA 4 - in both games the player participates in a rather difficult race as a shooter.
It is noteworthy that the STAG team in Russian translation is called KABAN. The word "Stag" literally translates as "Deer". However, this discrepancy was deliberate in order to preserve the play on words. Melee weapon
