Fps jumps into here. Setting up graphics in WOT

This question worries many players and they are all looking for solutions to this problem. There are several ways to increase FPS and now we will study them.

A large load from the game falls on the video card and to optimize the load as much as possible. You can install several programs that will significantly help raise the FPS.

First, set a very good program wot tweaker. This program turns off all unnecessary special effects.

After installing the program, you can disable the following special effects:

 • exhaust smoke
 • smoke from destroyed tanks
 • smoke and flames when fired
 • projectile explosion effects
 • the effect of hitting the tank
 • tank destruction effect
 • the effect of hitting objects
 • effects of destruction of objects
 • tree motion effect
 • cloud display

This program is the most important one in optimizing a game client.

The game can lose a little in beauty, but you don't have to choose.

Installing compressed textures can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, but it's worth it.

After that, we will also install a mod that removes fog. After installing this mod, the fog will disappear from the maps, which will increase visibility at long distances and hangs will disappear in sniper mode.

Installation is another important step.

These hangars are not very beautiful, but the hangar is loaded faster.

We will also make settings in the game itself.

In the settings, we will leave only the maximum visibility range at the maximum, set everything else to the minimum.

Most of the people who play World of Tanks do not have the most powerful computers... For this reason, the question of how to increase FPS in World of Tanks is especially acute, but is there really nothing that can be done?

Of course, you should not despair, because even on a frankly weak computer or laptop, you can take certain actions that will raise the FPS and give the owner a little more freedom, the main thing is to know certain tricks and subtleties, which we will now talk about.

And remember, the minimum allowable FPS value in the game is 30 or more (the higher the number, the better). If the number of frames per second falls below thirty, get ready for lags, freezes, image jerks, and so on.

Client graphics settings

The very first step to how to raise FPS in the world of tanks is to configure the client, namely its graphical section. It's funny, but many do not even try to check the characteristics of the game settings, but here you can move the sliders, remove a few checkmarks, and the effect will be very impressive.
To change the settings, you need to click on the gear in the upper left corner of the screen and select "Settings". Next, go to the "Graphics" tab and look. First of all, make sure that you are playing in full screen mode and not in windowed mode, this greatly affects the CPU utilization.

Now set the value for the quality of the graphics to "Low" (possibly "minimum" or "medium", depending on your computer), uncheck the "Dynamic change" and try to reduce the resolution of the 3D render by dragging the slider to the left. Thus, you will reduce the load on your video card and how to raise the FPS in the world of tanks. It is also worth turning off the color filter and anti-aliasing if you have them enabled (the described changes are shown in the screenshot).

The first stage of the settings is completed and you can safely proceed to the second. Click the "Advanced" button in the same section of the settings, and you will be presented with an extensive list of configurations for more complete changes. Here we put a tick in front of the item "Graphics - standard" and set the sliders as follows:
· The quality of textures is low;
· Lighting quality - off;
· Quality of shadows - off;
· The quality of additional effects is low;
· Add. effects in sniper mode - low;
· Disable the amount of vegetation and post-processing.
· Uncheck the "Grass in sniper mode" and "Effects from under the caterpillars."

So, you can manually adjust the quality of graphics and rendering of effects in such a way that everything matches your hardware as much as possible. The points described above apply to rather weak vehicles, so you may need to play around with the settings and test the changes in battle in order to find the best option. As a result, the overall picture should look as shown in the screenshot.

Next, we go down all the way and make the last changes:
· The quality of the landscape is low;
· Water quality - low;
· Turn off the quality of decals;
· Detail of objects - low;
· Detail of trees - low;
· Drawing distance - it is better to set "medium", since this indicator greatly affects the drawing of rocks, houses and other objects at a distance. If you reduce this scale to a minimum, there is a chance that a piece of rock will not be visible, and you will shoot at it, trying to target the enemy peeping from behind it.
· Quality of motion blur - low;
· Dynamically changing the quality of effects - it is better to leave a tick;
· Turn off the check marks for foliage transparency and tracks from caterpillars.

After all these adjustments (screenshot below), press the "Apply" button, reload the game client and go into battle, watch how the FPS has changed in World of Tanks.

Mods for raising FPS in World of Tanks

If the changes in the graphics in the game client settings have had an insufficient effect, there is another easy way to lower the FPS. You can install mods to reduce the load on the video card and computer processor.

One of these mods, the most significant and famous, is WoT Tweaker. This modification is good in that after its launch, you can disable those graphic effects that are not displayed in the client menu, simply by checking a few checkboxes. These are exhaust smoke, clouds, gunfire effects, etc. This script looks very simple, and you can see all the changes subject to it in the screenshot. By the way, in almost every popular for world games of Tanks, which are on our website, you can find the built-in tweaker as well.

Setting compressed textures

Another very effective method of increasing FPS in World of Tanks is to install compressed textures into the game. What does it mean? To put it simply, all textures in the game, for example, images of tanks and so on, are by default at a certain quality level and are archived in the root folder of the game. And subsequently, when you play, the game refers to these textures, loading them into the RAM of the computer and video card.

If we change the standard textures, tanks, terrain, trees, turn off various smokes, clouds, and other beauties of the game, we thereby reduce the load on RAM and processor time to generate the game's landscape and other textures. Thus, if translated into ballroom language, we increase the FPS in World of tanks.

Download the WoT Tweaker Plus mod on our website in the World of Tanks mods section, the settings, as shown in the screenshot, are simple and intuitive. The advanced version of the tweaker has the ability to compress textures, and it looks like this.

Updating drivers

Another method to increase FPS in world of tanks, sometimes bearing fruit, is to update the video card drivers to latest version... The fact is that the creators of video cards sometimes optimize their work by releasing new drivers, and their installation can give a good result. Although this procedure is unlikely to help much, it is still worth trying.

To update, knowledgeable people can go to the official website of the creator of the video card, Nvidia or AMD, and download the driver for their video card there. For those who are not aware of how this is done, it is recommended to download and install a special utility - Driver Puck Solution. With its help, in the driver menu, you can find the required update or even several, if any.

For the correct use of this program in the settings, you need to put a tick in front of the column "Expert mode" and start the search. After that, select the required driver and click the "Install" button. How to do this is shown in the screenshot. Next, just restart your computer and you're done.

As you can see, using fairly simple tools and knowing some of the intricacies of the game settings, you can easily raise the FPS even on a weak computer. As a result, you will be able to install several mods and play comfortably, and the number of frames per second will not fall below 30, causing the hated lags and image jerks.

Increased FPS due to graphics settings

First, let's try to improve WoT performance by using our own graphical settings. After launching the game client, go to "Menu-Settings-Graphics" point by point. You will see the window shown in Figure X - what can be changed here? At the top of the screen, it is recommended to leave a checkmark in front of the "Full screen mode" item, since the performance in the window is much lower. We do not touch the rest of the items in this area of the window - we are much more interested in the positions of the "Graphics Quality" set.
For machines with poor performance, the following settings are recommended:
Graphics - Standard,
Texture quality - Low,
Decal quality - Off (don't confuse decals with details),
Shadow quality - Off,
Landscape quality - Minimum,
Water quality - Low,
Lighting quality - Off,
The quality of the trees is Low,
Vegetation quality - Disabled,
Quality add. effects - Low,
Post-processing - Off,
Draw Distance - Medium,
Object Detail - Medium,
Add. sniper effects - Low.

All four checkboxes that follow (Dynamic change in the quality of effects, Grass in sniper mode, Effect from under the tracks and Tracks of tracks) can be safely removed. Through such simple actions, you can increase the fps in World of Tanks to a very significant value. The above parameters have almost no effect on the gameplay - with the exception of two, which were set to "Medium". The opposite question - we managed to raise fps in WoT, but the picture became terrible. Which settings from the above set can be touched to improve the quality, but not too much subsidence? Descending answer - Texture quality, Landscape quality, Additional quality. effects. You can play with these characteristics and achieve an acceptable ratio of picture quality and number fps world of Tanks. And do not use the "Auto-detect" buttons, as well as ready-made settings for the quality of graphics - it is better to spend a quarter of an hour once and configure the client as comfortable as possible for your PC, than to suffer later with brakes or a terrible picture.

Mods to increase the FPS in the game

If in spite of everything in WoT the small fps is preserved, then it's time to use third-party applications. Many developers have developed special WoT fps mods that allow you to disable certain special effects that were not available in the graphics settings. The list of allowed modifications can be found on the forum, but we will consider a program that has incorporated all the best of them - the legendary WoT Tweaker. Refers to free software, periodically updated in accordance with game versions client, supports many languages. The main program window is shown in Figure X.

Working with the tweaker is easy - when in WoT low fps interferes with playing, and the standard settings failed to correct the situation, we launch it and after defining the folder with the game, select which graphic effects can still be disabled:
Exhaust smoke
Smoke from destroyed tanks
Smoke and flame when firing (it is necessary to turn it off, the FPS sag when firing, especially in sniper mode is fatal),
Projectile Explosion Effects,
Effects of hitting a tank,
Tank destruction effects,
The effect of hitting objects
Object destruction effects (return the dog),
Tree movement effect,
Cloud display.

Despite the seemingly cosmetic settings, some of them are quite resource intensive (for comparison - when developing Fable 2, animation and calculation of growing grass and trees required 15% of the CPU resources, so they had to be cut significantly).

Important - download mods and tweakers only from trusted resources, and also check them with antivirus software. Do not fall for the advertisement "Acceleration of work 2 times!" - miracles do not happen, and there is probably malware behind the attractive content. Moreover, not all mods are officially approved by Wargaming, and getting banned for trying to improve WoT performance would be very disappointing.

Compressed textures

If the use of mods and tweakers did not manage to significantly increase the FPS of World of Tanks, then it's time to start changing the game client itself, namely the texture files. It's not a secret for anyone that they are packed in a packed form, and quite a lot of CPU and RAM time is spent on their processing and loading. The solution to increase the performance of WoT was the use of compressed textures. The concept of the idea is that the original texture file is replaced with another, lower quality, but it takes much less time to unpack and load the data of this file. Currently, textures with a quality of 50, 25, 12.5, 6, 3 and 0.75 percent of the standard are available to the general public - just go to any search engine and type "compressed WoT textures", then follow the link you like and follow the installation descriptions. Attention - some mods, for example skins with penetration zones, will need to be reinstalled over textures. You can also forget about a good picture - however, performance comes at a price. Also, now there is a new improved version of the WoT Tweaker Plus program with the ability to choose any compression ratio for textures yourself. The compression process will go right on your computer, it will take about 2 hours.

RAM

In general, the game "World of Tanks" is very demanding on the amount of RAM - if you have antivirus, ICQ, Skype, plus a browser with several bookmarks or other applications in the task list, then 2 GB of RAM will not be enough. Conclusion - close all unused applications before starting the game, use the appropriate RAM boosters. And ignore the message “Not enough memory. Please restart the game. ”Which will appear from time to time in the client. Banal memory leaks have been present in the project for a long time, and even 16 GB of RAM does not guarantee that after 5-6 hours of continuous play, you will not have to restart your PC.

Also, the performance and increase in fps of World of Tanks largely depends on the clutter operating system and the level of fragmentation of the hard drive (especially when using a large paging file). Conclusion - regularly clean the registry with applications like RegCleaner or CCleaner, defragment hard drives every six months. In especially advanced cases, it makes sense to rearrange the OS or roll back to more old version (for example, go from Vista to XP).

Hardware overclocking of components

We have reviewed the game settings and client settings - the last method remains, for fans of real hardcore - hardware overclocking of components. I would like to warn you right away that no responsibility is provided for the computers, apartments and cities burned during the experiments. Any of your actions will be taken only by you at your own peril and risk - the data is provided for informational purposes only.

So, hardware overclocking of components. Concept - many PC elements during production at factories turn out to be slightly better than the standard and they deliberately underestimate their technical characteristics. During overclocking, it switches from standard to maximum operating mode, which causes more wear and tear of the equipment and its early failure, however, productivity can be increased by an amount from 5 to 15 percent, depending on the type of components.

What can be overclocked - processor, RAM, video card. What you need to remember when overclocking is that the increase in performance is increased by the release of additional heat, so if your processor has a cooler made by the legendary Made in China company, made in an unknown place, then it is better to forget about overclocking the CPU. The overclocking mechanism consists in increasing the clock frequency of the devices, as well as increasing the supply voltage (this is where the extra power comes from).

Gone are the days when overclocking was carried out by setting jumpers on the motherboard, and in case of an unsuccessful configuration, I had to reset all settings to the standard, I take out the battery on the same motherboard. Now there are many applications, including those from official manufacturers of processors and video cards, that will allow you to overclock components directly in Windows. Again - the search engine will help you. Before overclocking, make sure that all the fans of the system unit are free of dust, the heatsinks fit tightly to the corresponding microcircuits, and the thermal paste (where it is needed) has not dried out.

In general, the statement "I have low fps in WoT" has become quite popular on the territory of the Russian Internet. Do not be ashamed to go to the official forum of the project, read the recommendations of other players and, in fact, developers, and then a positive result will not keep you waiting long.

Novice and experienced tankers come to play in world of tanks to enjoy the game, relax and unwind, eventually switching to a combat environment. But many tankers periodically encounter such a problem as a drop in FPS in the game, as a result of which, it is impossible to play or relax, not to mention pleasure, and this begs the question.

To answer this question, you need to find out what it is all about, and what affects this FPS.

FPS (FPS) stands for Frame Per Second, and in Russian, the number of frames per second, or the frame rate that a computer can display. In other words, FPS is a parameter that shows how often frames will be displayed on the monitor, and the higher this parameter, the smoother the picture will be. And accordingly, the less this parameter, the more jerks of the picture in the game and the brakes of the game itself. The smallest value in tanks that you can play with is 30 FPS per second.

With this it is clear now what affects the frame rate during the game. This parameter is influenced by many factors, but now we will consider one of the most important.

The first thing worth paying attention to when answering the question why the FPS dropped in world of tanks is the recommended game parameters presented on the official website. The fact is that if the parameters of your computer turn out to be less than the recommended characteristics, then this will be the reason for the fall in FPS in the game.

Here is one solution to this problem

First, see if your computer meets the minimum game requirements, all on the same official website. If so, and the game still jams, then you need to open the video parameters settings in world of tanks and reduce or remove the visual effects of the game, such as explosions, smoke, fire. They also include animation of various effects. Do not forget about the quality of textures and the range of the world display, which require a lot of resources for rendering in the game.

This will help a weak computer direct all its resources to the performance of the game, sacrificing the beauty of some of the effects. Here it is difficult to recommend how and how much to screw specific settings, because it depends on each specific configuration of the computer. Play with the settings and choose the optimal values for yourself for a comfortable game without lags and brakes.

If these actions did not produce the desired effect, then boldly continues the research with the search for solutions to eliminate this problem.

Why is FPS falling in world of tanks

Unfortunately, the reasons influencing the FPS cannot be divided into main reasons and secondary ones. And therefore, for someone, one of the listed reasons will be the main one, and for someone else, and so we will continue.

One of them is the discrepancy between the characteristics of the computer and the requirements of the game.

Overheating of both the video card and the entire computer.

These are not all reasons for frame rate drops, but the most common ones.

To determine the full scale of the problem and understand why the FPS falls in the world of tanks, we will try to disassemble each of the reasons separately

If your computer falls short of the minimum game parameters, then the most obvious solution would be to increase the performance of the machine. To do this, you need to replace those components that do not meet the requirements of the game. And if you decide to upgrade your gaming computer, then it is advisable to first look at the system requirements for a comfortable game in world of tanks, and only then purchase the best components.

Because tank players are often advised in such cases to change the vidyuhu to a more powerful one, but this is completely useless if the processor is less than the required characteristics or if the RAM is weak. The same applies to other combinations of parts. Having bought the most productive processor, the FPS in the game will not rise if the required amount of RAM is not available.

To avoid wasting money, you need to read about system requirements World of Tanks games on the official website. And only then will you buy exactly those parts that are needed for a comfortable game.

Overheating can also be a frank disaster. You can install a program that measures and shows the temperature of the computer parts. If FPS depends on the work of all parts in the computer, then the slowdown of this work as a result of overheating can affect the display of the picture in the game. This can also include dust in the computer, which interferes with cooling and contributes to the heating of parts. Overheating is treated by cleaning from dust and installing, if necessary, programs for overclocking coolers. If you are playing on a laptop, then you can use a special stand with additional cooling. It is also worth noting that constant overheating of the car can threaten with extraordinary repairs for a tidy sum. Therefore, overheating is worth paying attention not only to the fall in FPS.

By changing the video settings in the game or modifying the configuration of the gaming station, you can achieve that the FPS in the game does not fall. But everyone who plays in the popular tank project is faced with another equally significant problem.

Why does FPS jump in world of tanks

All tankers have a different FPS level in the game, but regardless of this, a sharp change in frames per second occurs in almost all players and negatively affects the combat performance of individual players and entire clans.

For some, the FPS starts jumping when you switch to sniper mode, for others, when a lot of tanks or vegetation comes into view. For still others, this happens during dynamic scenes. When you are driving fast in a light or medium tank, and the computer does not have time to cope with the drawing of the image, and the FPS starts to jump. There is a problem and something needs to be done about it.

We continue to understand the reasons for the sharp change in the frame rate in order to answer the question of why the FPS is jumping in the world of tanks

A common phenomenon among many tankers that affects performance is when, while playing tanks, many processes are running on the computer that consume resources and can affect the FPS jumps.

If you are running torrents that download or upload files. The update to various programs is downloaded automatically. Antivirus scans or updates, clients to social networks, players and other applications are launched. Then all these processes consume system resources. In order to prevent the drawdown and jumps of the FPS, it is recommended to disable such processes, or wait for them to end, and only then enter the game. The fact is that, for example, your FPS in tanks is good and stable, but here during the battle, one of the above processes is activated according to the schedule, and as a result the FPS sags.

No matter how trite it may sound, you need to check the driver update for all components, which by the way are few. This will allow you to use all the resources of the computer, and avoid annoying incompatibility with the game, which also affects the performance and stability of the FPS.

There is one more influencing factor that cannot be ignored.

A new "raw" patch that sets the FPS of the entire game for all players, regardless of the machine configuration and game settings. Here, any our efforts are useless, you need to be patient and wait for either micro patches, in response to numerous complaints in the game chat, or a full-fledged patch.

And sadly, but one of the reasons for the FPS jumps was and is, the optimization of the game itself. The game has a bigword engine, and for those who are not in the know, this is not the best option for a project of this scale.

It's time to consider a couple more reasons, a sharp change in frame rate, and answer a sore question.

Why does FPS jump in world of tanks

There is another not very popular, but effective means of fighting tank surges - it is the optimization of the operating system and registry. Correctly, by configuring Windows, you can release necessary resources, which will solve the problem of FPS jumps in the game.

First, you need to remove from startup everything that is unnecessary for the game and disable operating system services that are not needed during gameplay... This can be done using popular utilities for computer optimization or manually, for advanced users.

The next step, in the properties of the computer, you need to select the item that provides the best system performance. This will channel all the resources of the machine into the game. Just leave the font anti-aliasing, it will allow you to read the lettering in the game.

Also, a common answer to the question of why FPS jumps in world of tanks is to install mods

For many fashion players, this is manna from heaven that helps to play and even win in desperate situations... But many mods require significant resources, and therefore load the system. As a solution to the fight against horse racing, you need to disable mods, and this will help level the FPS.

We're going to talk about a modification that is designed to raise the FPS in the game by turning off various effects. Disable which is not possible through the standard graphics settings of the game. In fact, there are many such mods for tanks, but the most popular is WoT Tweaker, it is free, Russified and working.

They can turn off various effects.
Explosions of shells, destruction and hitting objects, hitting and breaking a tank, moving trees, displaying clouds;
You can also turn off smoke when firing, which is very useful in sniper mode;
Smoke from damaged tanks, and smoke from the exhaust pipe of a tank.

Due to the fact that some effects are very resource-intensive, you yourself choose what to remove and what to leave. It is important to remember, download mods only from trusted resources. And before installing it is better to see if there is permission to use them on the game website.

The solution to the problem of falling and jumps in FPS is individual, because it depends on many factors. Therefore, you need to determine what is the reason for the fall in FPS in you and eliminate it.

And by applying the small tricks that have been considered, you can achieve a more stable FPS value and enjoy the game of tanks, forgetting about FPS drawdowns as a nightmare.

There are many ways to improve the performance of games on not the weakest computer. Next, we will look at them in order from simple to complex and tell you what to do if World of Tanks slows down.

A simple solution to brakes in World of Tanks

 1. Download and run the world famous CCleaner (download by direct link) is a program that cleans your computer of unnecessary garbage, as a result of which the system will work faster after the first reboot;
 2. Update all drivers in the system using the program Driver Updater (download via direct link) - it will scan your computer and update all drivers to the latest version in 5 minutes;
 3. Install the program WinOptimizer (download via direct link) and enable Game Mode in it, which will terminate useless background processes while launching games and improve game performance.

Free up disk space

Before proceeding to the active steps, you need to make sure that the computer has at least 10-15 GB of free space on the hard disk on which the operating system is installed.

This is usually the "C" drive. This minimum margin is required so that the system can create temporary storage of World of Tanks files, caches, and so on without any problems.

And make sure you have enough space on your hard drive for the game to run normally.

Disable unnecessary programs

Each program that runs in the OS takes up a certain percentage of the RAM and loads the processor. It is easy to verify this, just open the Task Manager using the Ctrl + Alt + Del keyboard shortcut:

If the computer does not have the most powerful processor, and the RAM is less than 8-16 GB, then before starting World of Tanks you need to disable unnecessary programs. For example, Skype, Discord, Telegram, Google Chrome and so on.

Disable overlays

It is about those programs that are able to display their interface on top of the game. Often there are such on the computer - Fraps, Steam, Origin, and so on. Even when the overlay is hidden, it is processed by the computer, reducing the FPS in World of Tanks.

Therefore, all overlays must be disabled. Almost always this can be done in the program settings without having to uninstall it. For example, the Steam overlay is easily disabled via the menu:

Update video card drivers, download drivers for World of Tanks

Regardless of which video card is in the system unit, its drivers must be kept up to date. Therefore, before launching World of Tanks, you should go to the manufacturer's website and check if new drivers have been released:

After installing the driver, you should restart your computer to eliminate the possibility of crashes. It should also be borne in mind that for many old video cards, new drivers are no longer available.

For some games, video card manufacturers release specially optimized drivers. Look for those in the World of Tanks news section - we usually write about them. You can also look at the website of the video card manufacturers.

Change power options

By default, the computer is set to a balanced power supply mode, which, and in some laptops, in order to increase the operating time, is even set to save energy.

This prevents the computer from reaching its full potential in World of Tanks, so the first step is to open the control panel, which can be found using the search. Then you need to do the following:

 • Select the "Small icons" view mode;
 • Click on "Power supply";
 • On the screen, find the option "Setting the power supply scheme", click on it;
 • Click on "Change advanced power settings";
 • In the window that opens, find the drop-down list;
 • Select "High performance" from the list;
 • Click the "Apply" button, then click "OK".

Enable Nvidia Performance Mode

After installing the driver for the video card from Nvidia, you can speed up World of Tanks using the performance mode. This will slightly simplify the graphics in the game, but will increase the FPS. Please note that this method is only available if you have a video card with an Nvidia chip. Here's how to do it:

 • In the lower right corner of the screen, in the tray, right-click on the NVIDIA Settings icon;
 • In the window that opens, on the right, select the "3D parameters" tab;
 • Click on the option "Adjust image settings with preview";
 • On the right, check the box next to “ Custom settings with an emphasis on: ";
 • Move the "slider", which is below, to the extreme left position "Performance";
 • Click on the "Apply" button below.

Next, you need to launch World of Tanks and make sure that everything is displayed correctly. If you have problems, instead of "Custom settings with focus on:" select "Settings according to 3D application".

Disable Windows Effects

If World of Tanks does not work in full screen mode, but in a window, including without a frame, then you can increase the FPS by turning off the Windows effects. To do this, you need to do the following:

 • Open "Explorer";
 • In the window that opens, go to the "Visual effects" tab;
 • Check the box next to "Provide the best performance".

If necessary, you can select the "Special Effects" option in the last step. In this case, you can independently choose which effects to keep and which ones to turn off.

Increase the paging file if there is not enough RAM for World of Tanks

To compensate for the lack of RAM, you can increase the paging file. This will allow the system to store some of the data required by World of Tanks directly on the hard drive. Here's what to do:

 • Open "Explorer";
 • Right-click on "This computer" (or "My computer");
 • In the context menu, click on "Properties";
 • In the window that opens, on the left, click on "Additional system parameters";
 • In the window that opens, go to the "Advanced" tab;
 • In the "Performance" section, click on the "Options ..." button;
 • In the window that opens, go to the "Advanced" tab;
 • Uncheck the option "Automatically select paging file size" (if any);
 • Check the box next to the "Specify size" option;
 • In the "Original size (MB):" and "Maximum size (MB):" text boxes, specify in megabytes a value equal to half the amount of RAM.

For example, if a 4 GB "plate" is installed in the system unit, that is, 4192 MB, the number 2048 must be entered in the fields above. You can make the paging file larger, but this will not give any increase.

It should be understood that the paging file is only effective when the system is low on RAM. If the computer has 8-16 GB, then the paging file is practically not used. And when using an SSD drive as a system disk, the presence of a paging file can completely slow down the performance of World of Tanks, so you should not mindlessly set a large paging file value.

To further worsen the graphics in World of Tanks ("potato" mode) - turn off anti-aliasing, etc.

If World of Tanks starts, but slows down a lot, then before starting all the procedures, you should reduce the graphics to a minimum through the game settings. If this does not help, then you will have to resort to using third-party programs to configure the video card:

 • for video cards from Nvidia;
 • for video cards from AMD.

After downloading the program, we launch it. In the case of NVIDIA Inspector, you need to run nvidiaProfileInspector.exe, not nvidiaInspector.exe. Above, in the "Profiles:" line, you can select any game that is supported by Nvidia drivers.

Below are all available settings. There are many of them, but in order to worsen the graphics in the game to "potato", just a few are enough, which are in the "Antialiasing" section.

The greatest performance gain is obtained by changing these two parameters:

 • Texture filtering - LOD bias;
 • Antialiasing - Transparency Supersampling.

Each of these settings has a different meaning. Some of them can make the picture in World of Tanks indigestible, so you should try different combinations values that give a more or less tolerable playable picture.

In the case of RadeonMod, everything is the same: you need to find the settings that are responsible for displaying textures and reduce them until the FPS in the game becomes high enough.

How to overclock a video card for World of Tanks

Everything related to "overclocking" is aimed at increasing performance, but these are rather extensive topics, which are difficult to tell in a nutshell. Plus, it's always a pretty risky business. If anything, we have warned you.

To achieve a higher FPS value in World of Tanks, you can first try to overclock the video card. The easiest way to do this is to use the built-in features of the software from the video card manufacturer.

For example, the Graphics Engine program comes bundled with some video cards from GIGABYTE, in which there are several ready-made overclocking profiles. This allows you to squeeze out 5-10 additional frames per second from the video card.

If there is no program from the manufacturer, then you can always use a universal solution -. This is one of the best overclocking software out there and has a lot of different settings.

But here you have to configure everything manually. First of all, you should increase the frequency of the video chip itself ("Core Clock") and the frequency of the video card memory ("Memory Clock"). On the left are the basic values of these parameters. On the right, the temperature and voltage increase are displayed - these characteristics allow you to monitor the "health" of the video card.

As the frequency rises, the heating of the video card increases. If the temperature goes over 85 degrees, you should increase the fan speed ("Fan Speed"). If the temperature rises to 100 degrees, then you should immediately stop overclocking, otherwise the chip may melt. Powerful "overclocking" requires water cooling, so do not increase frequencies by more than 10%.

Overclock the processor

While "overclocking" a video card is quite feasible right in Windows, in order to improve the processor's work and thereby increase the speed of World of Tanks, you will have to go to "BIOS".

Gaming processor overclocking usually involves increasing the processor multiplier (Core Ratio). This can be done not on every processor, but only on the one where this multiplier is unlocked. Typically, these processors are labeled in a special way. For example, Intel uses the 'K' and 'X' markings. That is, for example, the i7-4790 cannot be overclocked using a multiplier, but the i7-4790K is completely.

But how do you know the exact name of the processor model? The easiest way is to use the program. Having started it, you need to open the "CPU" tab and look at the very first line - "Name". This is the name of the processor. By the way, you can also see the multiplier itself there. It's in the Clocks section, in the Multiplier line. If the processor supports overclocking, then this multiplier can be changed.

To change the Core Ratio, you first need to get into the BIOS shell. To do this, you need to press a special key combination while the computer boots up (before the Windows screen appears).

The combination may differ depending on the motherboard. Often the BIOS can be invoked with the "F8" or "Del" key. On the Bios screen, you need to find the section dedicated to the processor. Here, too, everything is complicated, since the BIOS has a lot of shells. Almost every motherboard manufacturer uses their own, so without knowing in English finding the right place is not easy.

Change the multiplier gradually, increasing it by 2. After each change, restart the computer and carefully check the processor's performance and temperature. If it gets higher than 80 degrees during the game, then you need to immediately turn off World of Tanks, restart your computer, enter the BIOS and lower the Core Ratio value. Otherwise, the processor may burn out.
