Famous PokerStars players. What is a team of PokerStars professionals, how to get into it? The road to millions starts small

Hooray, I became a member of Pokerstars Team PRO Online!

Over a year ago, a window popped up in my PokerStars client asking me to fill out a candidate profile for PokerStars Online Pro. Then I got very excited about this idea, and since I had a certain fame in the community (and the player's publicity is practically the most important criterion in this selection, as far as I understand), I thought that I had no chance of success. Unfortunately, I did not receive the status that year.

This year, I suspected that the re-recruitment to the team will most likely be, because the contracts were concluded for a year. And this year I decided to grab this opportunity properly :) After all, in fact, I thought that I fit PokerStars perfectly. It only remained to bring this to their attention :)

Operation "Become a missile defense" began in Germany, Leipzig. I once again went to the BlackMember Party from PokerStrategy, which was just sponsored by PokerStars. The poker room was represented by Steve Day, one of the key player relations managers. So, on the first day, after a festive reception with champagne, I caught a moment when no one communicated with Steve, introduced myself, said that I was becoming a supernova elite for the second year in a row (by the way, he also filled this status in the past before working at stars), reminded that we met in Monte Carlo, and started talking about the room, recent innovations (like playing at 20-50bb tables), etc.

Smoothly, the topic also touched the online pro team. He said that he really wanted to get into the team, but didn't get it (he was joking - well, yes, obviously, since you are Russian and you are not LuckyGump :)), he briefly mentioned that I have a blog with more than a million views, which interested Steve. Then, in order not to be imposing, we discussed other candidates (for example, Kevin WizardOfAhhs), said goodbye and went to eat. Personal contact was established :)

I proceeded to the second stage immediately upon my return. It was necessary not to let Steve forget me :) In order to fully convey to the management why I deserve to become a Pro, I registered the domain www.innerpsy.com, and started looking for a freelancer who would make me a page “11 Reasons Why I Should Become online pro ". As a result, all of them did not suit me in terms of terms, and I made the site myself in one evening (fortunately, the site in this context = 2 analogous pages in Russian and in English).

I sent a link to it to Steve and received confirmation that he remembers me and considers me as a candidate, but in any case, you need to wait for the official application procedure and the decision will be made only after it.

The third stage is the simplest one - fill out the questionnaire that appears in the pokerstars client. You didn't even have to try too hard in it - I just inserted a link to my site, which explains everything that decision-makers need to know.

And then - wait. This was not easy at all. Initially, the deadline was announced on November 21 - after it, if they did not contact you, then they did not take you. At least it was written that way. As a result, already desperate at the very end of November, I wrote in the topic SNE Pursuit 2010 for 2 + 2 something like "Is the following true: you have not been contacted yet == you have not become online about", to which I received a reply in a personal from Steve - “In your case, no. In the case of 99.9% of applicants - yes. "

A new arrival of hope, joy, and at the very beginning of January a new manager of the online team, Dustin, contacted me by phone for an interview. It turns out that I made it to the list of finalists. The interview went well, I told everything I wanted (practically), I was told that in case of a positive result for my candidacy, I would be contacted within 2 to 7 days. As a result, 14 days passed, and I again lost all hope, and rushed about in a misunderstanding - where I messed up. But on day 15, Dustin called me again and congratulated me on qualifying for Team PokerStars Online Pro.

I am doubly glad that what I have to do under the contract I already do with great pleasure - I write blogs, play only on PokerStars - the most convenient poker room I have ever played.

So I once again clearly demonstrated to myself that if you want to achieve something, you need to make every effort, and then, for sure, you will succeed.

Now, being an Online Pro, I will write more often on the blog, come up with marathons, which I hope will be interesting for you to rail, talk about my poker travels (Bahamas, Monte Carlo, Vegas - reports will be regular and I hope interesting), and strive to maintain the image of a poker professional by playing a little better poker every day at PokerStars.

This is what happened to me a New Year miracle :)

Good luck at the tables and play poker at PokerStars!
